What is Huntington's Disease?

Huntington's Disease (HD) is a progressive brain disorder that causes uncontrolled movements, emotional problems, and loss of thinking ability. Both adults and children can be affected through inheriting a single copy of the gene responsible for causing the disease (HTT) from either mother or father. There is currently no cure for this disease.
